It's not that important that I need to wreck my hard drive over it.

My computer is less than a year old and it still has 175GB empty space on it.
I think I'll keep it a bit longer. :)

Wow! 175 gigs free? You could rip movie after movie onto that... or tons of songs, games, anything! 1 thing you might want to do is switch to Mozilla Thunderbird, if you haven't already. It's basically the same as Outlook Express, but also free, safer, and easier to use, plus it'll import all of your stuff over automatically. I have used it for about 2.5 years now and I haven't noticed that ghosting going on at all...

Thanks for the tip. Someone I work with has mentioned Mozilla as well. I suppose I should take a look.

Yes, I bought a 200GB Sony Vaio system with a 17 inch screen. I hadn't planned on spending that much money and I really don't need a lot of the programs that are in it, but when I saw the screen...oh wow oh wow....I bought it.

So far I have only one movie on it and about 6 songs. Mostly I use it for photographs at this time.

Wow... Nice system... Photographs can also take up a lot of storage space if they are formatted in the right way. Yeah, about Mozilla, it's one of the best out there and the second most popular browser (firefox) behind IE, which I despise... lol They've got a lot of free, good stuff, no spyware, adware, or anything. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/. Haven't tried version 2 yet, but heard it works just great!

I deleted some contacts out of my address book that I no longer wish to communicate with, but one of them won't go away.

When I look in the contacts list, the name is not there, but...if I open a new message window to send an email, the name will come up when I type the first letter.

Do any of you know how I can get rid of that name from my computer?
Assuming you're using Outlook, take a look here.

I used both thunderbird and firefox for a long time, and I agree with you, they're both great. Buuuut, you do still get spyware and adware, firefox doesn't completely eliminate it.

Plus with IE7 out, it's actually better then firefox now. Better security, and you still get the tabbed browsing (and nice looking browser).

Oh, and blues2cruise, that is a pretty nice system, although 200gigs is an awful lot of space lol.

I could never understand why people (not talking about you, I'm talking about mostly my friends) think they need so much hdd space. I've got a friend who has 4 1/2 TERABYTES of storage in his desktop. You know how much he uses? About 30gigs. Lol.

I have 287GB of HDD space and have managed to fill 174GB of it. That's what happens when you download movies, music, and entire box sets of certain TV shows off of Limewire. Heck, I have 18GB worth of Smallville (still haven't watched a single episode) and 15GB of standup comedy. And my music folder is currently sitting at 14GB.

I don't use much space on my computer (I have 120 gigs worth of hdd space) because I regularly clean up the hard drive, to remove unwanted files etc., I had somewhere around 15gigs of music at one time, then I had to reformat my hdd because of a virus. I burn movies, so I don't keep them on the hdd, so most of my space is taken up by games.
