Ok I see what your saying. But.... When I asked the instructor about it before doign the exercise he said that you need to turn your head the bars and lean to get around the cones. Watching the instructor do the cones he was definitely leaning the bike and turning the bars.

When doing the cones in second gear you aren't going slow enough for just turning the bars to be effective. (correct me if I a wrong) so it is a combination of looking leaning and turning the bars. All in a way that is alluding me at the moment .

Have a great one and ride safe

Right, the bike leans, but you are still sitting relatively straight on the bike (and not leaning off the sides or anything). What I was trying to say is you use the bars (along with the head turn) to initialize the bike's lean... not your body weight.

Congrats on your success btw!

I see what you are saying now that I have done the cones. But the way I managed em was by taking the first cone a little wide as was suggested then looking at the one ahead of the one I was going around then when I was going for that one I swithced focus to the next one up the line. As long as I leaned as well and looked where I should be I was fine. The times I got distracted (like the guy riding his bike in the lot watching us) was when I ran over a cone lol.

We practiced them for about an hour and I was doing it everytime. So I am happy with the results I finnaly got them down and don't have to really sweat it too much. I am going to keep practicing though.
