Please don't let the following question distract from the above question.

Can someone point me to a website that details the differences between all the (apparent) types of sport bikes (RR bikes, streetfighter, cafe racer, sport touring, supersport touring, supersport, superbike, etc.)? I want to LEARN!!!

Ive been looking at classified ads around my areas (Brooklyn), and I'm finding no Ninja 500. I thought it would be like shopping for a Civic or a Camery or some such... so popular that there'd be tons of used ones for sale. This, compounded by the fact that i live in frickin' NYC, where there's 6 million people. Guess not. So, lets say for a second that I can't find a ninja 500 or GS500... what then?
Try cycletrader.com and craigslist.org. There HAS to be beginner bikes in your area.

I'd go for a ninja 500cc. Though I do have a 250 ninja  ; only reason was I was not able to find a used 500cc in time.

250 has a lot of power and potential for its size. But once you hit 90mph its doesnt really wanna go any faster. Still the Acceleration is way higher than a car(including some sports cars).

anyhow if you get hold of a 500 ninja; Go for it. GOood luck
