Went to my YamaKawazuki dealer... now I have more questions

Well, The decision got a whole lot easier.

The 07 C50 is selling for $6700 and the 07 Vulcan 900C is $7200. The sales guy at the dealer will give me a new 06 Vulcan 900C leftover for $6700.

Hmmmmmmmm........

good luck w/ the search!

I looked at the 800 and 900 many times over and by far, the 800 seemed a lot larger ( maybe its the tank or possibly the whole MC is bigger). I liked it a lot and think the MC is pretty cool.
I'm happy w/ my VStar and my price point was $5200 out the door ( my dealer doesnt charge for prep or dest fee).

The 07 Vulcan sounds like a good deal- ask if they can waive the pre and/or dest. and hopefully it will save you a few bucks!
If you dont ask, they'll definitly wont offer it....

I fail to see the appeal of the V-Star 650 at its current price point.

Compared to the Honda 600 VLX which has a Base MSRP $5,499, Its a good deal.

Sure, compared to an ugly 600 with a 4-speed tranny, anything looks like a good deal. Thing is, the 800cc class is the best-selling cruiser segment in the U.S., and the V-Star 650 is Yamaha's offering in that segment. And when you start looking at price tags it becomes clear that dropping two or three more C-notes on a C50 is a no-brainer. What's more, now that the VN900 is out and puts out more power than the V-Star 1100 with fifty fewer pounds, that's a no-brainer, too. It's time for Star/Yamaha to revamp their lineup.
