I kinda want to do a cross that extends from shoulder blade to shoulder blade across my back, keep it hollow and add in verses that apply to me at different times in my life. tough part is I really like the tribal look but dont know how it would work with a cross, or if it would even be appropriate. Then again on a personal level it is because the tribal style is how I like to do my artwork, and my faith is what shapes my life. I guess i'll be doing sketches.
how much does tattooing over the back hurt, like right over the spine area? I'm not as thin as I used to be so I have at least a little padding to help I guess...

I have one on my left shoulder, and it hurt more neareer the spine and on my "wing" where the skin is thinner. I thought my lower back was the most painful, from buzz one!
Since I have finally gotten my camera out of the box, and taken some pics, I will try to get my tats too to post. I also owe pics of my bike... Now I just have to get them on the computer!!

Hey I just wanted to let you guys know, I'm currently writing an essay on "Tattoos as a form of Communication" for my Communications class. I wanted to know if it'd be OK to reference some of these tattoos for my paper.
Basically, my thesis is that tattoos are accepted as a viable form of communication, and because of their permanence and the sacrifice involved in getting a tattoo, namely that it hurts and you lose skin-space, their depth and meaning transcends the superficial. I'll also be doing a few paragraphs on historical perspectives of tattoos, the modern perspective, and other various circumstances concerning tattoos. Thanks and if you would rather I not reference your tattoo, just lemme know.

sounds cool to me...
also might add the financial aspect of it too.
My 1/2 sleeve took about 21-23 hours
@ $150 per hour...
lets just say that its a lot of chrome and upgrades....
i totally respect the old school punk guys from So. Cal that i grew up with because they always used every single cent to either fix thier cars, motorcyles or get some ink work- that was dedication to the scene...

You're welcome to use my descriptions (most are in my blog). You'd be surprised at how the most modest of a person will strip down in full public view just to share their tattoos. Most tattooed people love to talk about their ink, so ask away... Plus, as in other social areas, there had been in the past quite a stigma attached to tattoos. So most tattooed people are happy to correct some of those negative stereotypes.asiantay wrote:Hey I just wanted to let you guys know, I'm currently writing an essay on "Tattoos as a form of Communication" for my Communications class. Great Asiantay! Is it possible to make your paper availabe to us to read when done? (Also, have you seen the "Miki Mori" coffee table book? I received it from a friend, but gave it away to "my guy" in Florida...)

Sure! I'll probably finish it this weekend cuz its due on Tuesday. I only ask that you do not post it to any internet sites which might complicate "Turnitin.com" (which checks for plagiarism). Just gimme a PM if you want one.Candy750 wrote: Great Asiantay! Is it possible to make your paper availabe to us to read when done? (Also, have you seen the "Miki Mori" coffee table book?
