*shudder* That doesn’t make a pleasant mental image, that’s for sure. Even with your best crash costume on, I cant shake image of a human cheese grater feeding the fishies.

I havent had to cross one yet, but I'd use that as an excuse to turn around and ride some more

They're not as bad as they seem, quite a few of them in downtown Chicago. Go out at a low traffic time and just practice, after a while you'll begin to feel a little more comfortable.

i fell on a grate once, with a fully loaded (4 pannier bags) bicycle during a tour. I wasnt going that fast, but it still sucked. I couldnt imagine doing it going 45 mph.

the center of gravity on my motorcycle is much lower then on my Litespeed road bike though, so i'm hoping you're all right and the bike wont decide to go down on its right side instead of the rubber side.

Oh well, its the things that keep you on your toes while riding a motorcycle that make it so much more interesting then riding in a boring old car.

i would wait until i needed new tires--the more times you go over bridge the less intimidating it is,you eventually get accustomed to it.
