as for the rider comming off, he just had no experiance and really shouldnt of been on the bike on the first place, he didnt even do his chin strap up...

Yup. It's not the rider's fault in this case.

The only instruction the kid was given before going was "put up the kickstand" and "pull in that thing there."

The kid had no chance to prevent an accident.

Not necessarily - I was scared and nervous shaking the first time I got on the bike. In this case, may have been better to step back.

LOL Well anyways, I was at my friends house yesterday, and his brother who bike came home with his Yamaha R6. I asked to ride it and he surprisingly let me. I got on just his helmet and gloves and tried it out. Wasnt too bad! I rode it up and down the street with out that much trouble.

Im sure the hard part is like turning and throttle control and the unforgiving engine.
But I radther have my 200 cc 15 hp bike because:

1.) The front brake on that bike is like fricking running into a wall. It bites like a shark. When ever I was slowing down I couldnt control the sensitivty of the brakes and I was bobbing up and down like one of those bobbers fishermen use to keep track of their hook and bait on a windy day.

2.) The friction point is 10x smaller than on my bike.
The friction point is tiny on this bike compared to mine.

3.) It is too loud and scary. A simple twitch of the wrist gives it a huge burst of RPM like 2000-6000 RPM.. (scurry)

4.) I dont want to die and get flamed at

But Id rather have that bike because:

1.) The bike starts with a simple push of the starter. est time needed: 1 seconds.

My bike: Tons of kick starts. -> 20-30 minutes.

2.) This bike doesnt shut off randomly.

My bike: Needs 20 minutes of constant reving before leaving my driveway or else I think the engine is too cold and it shuts off.

3.) The turn signal doesnt make loud beeping noises like mine.


4.) Gets more than 60 miles to the gas tank.

5.) Seat closes and doesnt shake like mine.
6.) Has a visible speedometer, nicely lit.

7.) fuel gauge works.

dude I say this everytime before I hit a giganous bike jump or something... and my fail rate is only about 5 %

But do you say it out loud to all that are standing around you? There's a difference between an "OH "poo poo"!" in your head and a "This scares me." to someone standing next to you. I was nervous as hell riding that 600 I did for the first time. Then again, I was nervous because I WASN'T scared... I'm rather fearless on bikes, which is kind of scary by itself...

It was different for him because it was his fault he did something stupid, not the bikes fault. The bike will just do what is asked of it from its rider. Any bike mass produced isn't inheriently dangerous, unless you throw a dangerous rider on it. Thats when danger comes into the mix.

My sentiments exactly. Even with the limited experience I have on bikes, I'm confident enough to feel comfortable on anything... but also not dumb enough to think I can ride everything.

Dohun, it sounds like your bike needs some work. If you are kicking for twenty minutes to get it to catch there is a problem, not to mention having to warm it up for more than twenty minutes before being able to take it anywhere.

I'd suggest getting a pro shop to look at it for you.

Getting 60 miles to the tank feels a bit heavy too, although that depends on how large the tank is. with everything else you are saying it is sounding like you have a fueling issue.

All bikes should have a lit speedometer, even if no other instruments!

As for the gas gauge, don'tm even sweat it. Work out how far a litre of petrol gets you and then extrapolate that by the capacity of the tank. Set your tripometer each time you fill up and refuel when you are close to your mileage.

The beeping for the turn signal could be disconected, but to be totally fair at least while it is beeping at you then you'll always remember to shut it off!

Personally I'm not completely sold on electric start. It is very conveinient but stylisticly and because I don't trust my battery I prefer kick start.

My ideal bike would have both systems.

I've two 250's and a 500 in my care at the moment. They all have electric start, the 500 gets roughly 12 miles to the litre or 170 miles to the tank.
