Books and the reading thereof.
Dr_Bar, yep. i have about a 15% success rate with remembering book titles. I actually rescued a couple of copies from my hometown library. Has dads and uncles names in the little sleeve in the back from the late 60's early 70's. Thats pretty nifty.
sv, oh yes, big heinlien fan. Think stranger was my first offering by him too. and starship troopers was an awesome book. And if the book had never been made...the movie wouldnt have been too horrible.
I re-did all the dune stuff a few months back. Thats a gigantic world he created.
Theres one i read years ago that i have never been able to get out of my head, I *Think* it was called the Citadel. weird post-apocalyptic thing where this gigantic army of intelligent dogs surrounds the last human city.... was just a really strange book. Read it when i was a kid and can't for the life of me remember exact title or author.
Been thinking of re-browsing through my Destroyer books. Gotta love remo williams eh?
maybe a spattering of xanxth
those just feel like fillers at the moment. I think one of those big honkin 3k page novels is in order..... maybe raptor or aztec by gary jennings.
And if i can find my copy, Brave men by david hackworth

The first time I read Heinlein I was in fourth grade. I found "To Sail Beyond The Sunset" in a box of books my Dad had given me. I've been obsesed with the author ever since. His writings have actually made an impact on my life, "Job: A Comedy Of Justice" started my falling away from religion. I also took to heart the wisdom of Lazarus Long: "Always place your clothes and weapons where you can find them in the dark"

Not as good as the first but still a good read. I believe it actually takes place between the second and third parts of the original story.
The first part being, "Fiat milk (Let There Be Man)",
the second, "Fiat Lux (Let There Be Light)",
and the third, "Fiat Voluntas Tua (Thy Will Be Done)
