The bikes owner should not have let him on it. End of story.

But Id rather have that bike because:

1.) The bike starts with a simple push of the starter. est time needed: 1 seconds.

My bike: Tons of kick starts. -> 20-30 minutes.

2.) This bike doesnt shut off randomly.

My bike: Needs 20 minutes of constant reving before leaving my driveway or else I think the engine is too cold and it shuts off.

3.) The turn signal doesnt make loud beeping noises like mine.

4.) Gets more than 60 miles to the gas tank.

5.) Seat closes and doesnt shake like mine.

6.) Has a visible speedometer, nicely lit.

7.) fuel gauge works.

Dohun, it sounds like your bike needs some work. If you are kicking for twenty minutes to get it to catch there is a problem, not to mention having to warm it up for more than twenty minutes before being able to take it anywhere.

I'd suggest getting a pro shop to look at it for you.

Getting 60 miles to the tank feels a bit heavy too, although that depends on how large the tank is. with everything else you are saying it is sounding like you have a fueling issue.

All bikes should have a lit speedometer, even if no other instruments!

As for the gas gauge, don'tm even sweat it. Work out how far a litre of petrol gets you and then extrapolate that by the capacity of the tank. Set your tripometer each time you fill up and refuel when you are close to your mileage.

The beeping for the turn signal could be disconected, but to be totally fair at least while it is beeping at you then you'll always remember to shut it off!

Personally I'm not completely sold on electric start. It is very conveinient but stylisticly and because I don't trust my battery I prefer kick start.

My ideal bike would have both systems.

I've two 250's and a 500 in my care at the moment. They all have electric start, the 500 gets roughly 12 miles to the litre or 170 miles to the tank.

I dont think any shop will do service on mine.. will they? its some cheap offbrand motorcycle I bought NEW for 900 dollars

Parts will be a dog, but work shouldn't be a problem as long as there is an honest independant shop near you.

if it's new and it is misbehaving like that I'd suggest it hasn't been setup right out of the crate.

Well, there was nothing really to setup when it came to my house.. All I had to do was put the front wheel on and then put the side mirrors done. COuld it be a problem with the battery connection?


Motorcycle shops near me.... car mechanics arent moto shops right? Well in that case... I dont think theres any motorcycle shops anywhere in the 50 mile radius of me! LOL.

It would concern me enough to get it done, it shouldn't bite into your savings too much. That said how much do you value your skin? I'm a budget biker but this is one of those things I wouldn't scrimp the cash on.

I don't know how much independant mechnics in your area cost, but mine charge about £25 per hour.

The place where you got your helmet should be able to point you in the right direction for a good mechnic. As a bonus the mechanic shop should be able to make sure that your bike is all bolted up safely - they arent always spot on frmo the factory.

Another forum member who is a mechanic relayed the story that a chinese bike he got in, I think it was an Lifan or something but don't hold me to it, had a 'factory fitted' flattened soda can acting as the main gasket - not a good thing, but extermely inventive.

I wouldnt have said it was your battery terminals, it sounds like a fuelling problem to me.

This Englehart Center? Yeah, it would appear they do service. Took me about 2 minutes to find that from 1000 miles away. Google is your friend.

To be honest I can't remember anything other than the gasket, it's the kind of thing that sticks in your mind.

Give engleheart a ring and ask them if they will give you a 600mile service and trace your fuelling problem.

Just out of interest did you go for the Sportsbike or the Endurobike? I've been tempted by them on and off over the last year. All of the asthetics are there, it's just the quality control and the spares availability which is currently iffy.

Your fueling problem? Could be the fuel/air mixture or a timing thing - it is very posibly no big deal to adjust.
