What armor do you wear to work/school/shops?

I always wear my full gear. Keep the jacket on, stores usually have AC on so you don't get to hot. Your helmet goes into the basket or cart. If you're going to be getting just a few things then use the helmet as a basket.

If people stare they're just jealous, give them a "poo poo" eating grin, and a wink. Or if it's a guy, just glare. I'm 5'8" and like 120lbs and even big guys seem to think twice about giving a biker a hard time.

As for classes, man cart that stuff everywhere. It looks awsome, the guys are jealous, and the girls want to talk to you . Remember, you're part of that small percentage of the population with the guts to throw your leg over one of these machines, might as well flaunt it.

I think that's a great looking jacket.

If you really don't want to carry it everywhere, string a cable through the sleeves and helmet and lock the stuff to the bike.

Think about this, if you're worried about image, what looks worse, a guy wearing a bright motorcycle jacket, or a guy covered in road rash? And road rash isn't even a cool scar, it's gross and makes your skin look funny, lol.

Also, again for image, most girls seem to think guys with motorcycles are hot. I like carrying my helmet around in stores simply for the cute girls smiling at me.

Oh, and I'm 18, 5'10" and about 130lbs, I'm a small guy too, don't worry about it, unless you're dating an amazon woman, nobody cares.

I have to agree with blues2cruise, it is a great looking jacket. And, the looks you are getting are probably a mix of things...envy, curiosity...I doubt any of them are having judgemental thoughts about your fashion sense. Oh yeah and I bet some of the girls are wishing they could hop on the back of your bike... in case you didn't know, girls love bikers

Please wear your gear all of the time. Especially since you are so young and are learning the ways of not just riding but dealing with traffic in general. I just started riding at 33 and think I have an advantage over those learning at your age because I have had years of experience driving, and avoiding accidents in a cage.

Anyway have fun ,be careful and wear all of that gear with pride!!!

Dress for the crash, not the ride, cause you don't get to pick when the crash will happen or nobody would EVER crash ANY vehicle.

so youd wear my neon blue race jacket to places? the problem is, im 6' 0 135 pounds... Im a tiny person, so my jacket looks radther odd on me.. But I think ill just carry it all around, its better than getting major road rash.

Who cares what people think. I'd rather people look at me a little odd carrying my gear with me than stare at the 2nd and 3rd degree brush burns on the right side of my face, both shoulders and both elbows. Did that on a 20" BMX at 15. 4 days in the hospital and took 3 days to convince the doctor that it was a pedal bike.

In summer, my helmet stays locked on the bike, in winter it comes into the office with me (don't like putting on an ice-cold helmet!). My winter jacket is bright yellow and I wear it into the office - too cold to walk in from the parking lot without a jacket! Everyone at work knows I ride, it's no big deal.

Dude, other motorcyclists know why you're wearing your gear..... and do you really care what non-motorcyclists think??

I still have them - or what is left of them. I look at them from time to time to remind myself what I might have looked like now had I not been wearing them.

And yes, I wear them when I go four hundred yards up the road to the shop. I've learned ways of lugging my lid around with me while I do my shopping at the supermarket. After a while you get used to it.

As for other people. Who they?

I'll tell you something. They sure as hell would be looking at me if I was hobbling round with a missing nose and limbs.
