I don't think there would be many organs left after a crash at those speeds on the street

What do I think? Well no one REALLY cares except me. So I'm posting this for myself.

1) Fast can be a lot of fun.
2) I'm aware of/prepared to deal with the consequences of my actions.
3) Other people on the road are not.

What does this boil down too for me? I'm not going that fast, both because I lack the skill to deal with it, and because I don't want to be the biker who wrecks someone's car because he's going to fast and cannot handle it. But I still speed.

As for the vids, the first one, HOLY dodo THAT'S FAST!!!111ONEONEELEVEN! And the stunter was pretty fricking cool.

Hope the racer doesn't push it to far.

probably the best example of the difference between bikers and motorcyclists. Bikers don't care what others think.

Seems your idea of bikers are those who have already become organ doners (minus one brain!)

Can't take that seriously. The guy in the vid cares very much what other people think - just like MakeCarsStandStill with his defensive comments dressed up as bravado.

In my experience people who claim not to care usually have very fragile and insecure egos and actually care a hell of a lot.

My opinion - I don't mind admitting that I'm envious of anyone who can ride like that. I've no problem with bikers or anyone else getting their kicks anyway they can - so long as they don't endanger or scare the dodo out of anyone else. We all have to live together and other people's lives are as vulnerable as our own.

I didn't bother to look at the video. They're blocked at work, and takes too long to download at home where I'm on dialup, but I don't care how fast or how squidly someone rides unless they are on a public road where I might be riding or driving.

I was one of those "crazy cagers" everyone cusses for a long time before I started riding a bike. I don't see any more "crazy cagers" now than I did/do when I'm driving a car. Yes, they do some stupid things, but for the most part they aren't deliberate. They may be stupid, inattenative, whatever, but for the most part they aren't deliberate. (Yes, I know there are some.)

That's the difference. I was in my car not too long ago, when two sportbikes passed me. (Sorry sportbikers, I'm not picking on you, but they were sportbikes.) I was in the left lane on the interstate, running 70 mph, passing traffic. We were in a "mixing bowl where two interstates merge, traffic was heavy. One of these fools passed me on the shoulder to the left, the other split between me, and the car I was passing. I estimate they were going 90-100 mph. That was deliberatly putting them, me, my wife, and any number of other drivers in danger.

We has met the enemy and he is us.

Skills? What skills? Any moron can twist the grip. What a squid, couldn't even break 300kph. Loser. He survived this time, unfortunately. I hope someone sticks a broomstick in his front wheel while he rides by.

That is somewhere in Europe. They don't make interstates like that here is the U.S., not that flat and gradual turning.
I have driven the Autobahn in Germany and recognized some of the construction along the roadsides in the video. The speed he was traveling was not illegal but how he was riding his bike was. I used to see a lot of that. Knew a guy who was killed on the Autobahn on his bike.
I saw a lot of good bike and car crashes in the two years I spent over there. It's ironic but they are much better drivers over there than in the U.S. They start teaching kids driving instruction while in grade school using bicycles.
When I was in Germany it took me six weeks to get my drivers license.

Yeah, that looks like it might be the autobahn to me too.

I was over there only a week several years ago, but in that short time saw a number of wrecks - one where a mercedes apparently rolled landed rightside up, a man and woman standing beside it laughing.

Din't see no bikes that i remember - did see a bunch o' trabants lol. And scads of big black bmw's.

I would never have imagined a behemoth like the Rocket 111 could be so nimble and maneuverable. The rider is very talented to be able to ride that Triumph like that.
