Yeah at the very least I suppose I'll get the helmet xrayed for any issues and if theres any question replace it(which would kinda suck, its a pretty nice Shoei). Guess it cant hurt to be on the safe side.

if you would have gotten that ladies liscence plate you could have got her for leaving the scene of an accident. I know I sure as hell would have.

Why would the woman in the cage have to stop? From the description of the crash, she wasn't involved. From the description, it seems kellanv went down while cornering because of some kind of substance on the road. In Texas, as far as I know there is no law that requires witnesses to stop at an accident scene and render aid. YMMV.
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

Don't even bother with all the rigamarole, just replace the helmet. Period. It's done it's work, it's retired now.

Glad the incident wasn't any worse and that you and the bike are OK more or less.

Great that you're OK and thanks for posting. I have been hesitant to purchase gear because of the expense. Thanks to you, I'm going out right now to purchase. By the way, where would one get a helmet x-rayed. I have a used Z1R that I would like to know what condition it is in.[/u]

yeah that was me.

And no, I'm not usually this accident prone, it has just been a rough 6 months :P

I really do try to be careful and take precautions but I also participate in quite a few activities that arent exactly the safest and best for my body(playing soccer/football has basically torn up the lower half of my body already)

Anyway, my new years resolution for 2007 is going to be to try not to have any more injuries this year....we'll see if that happens :)

Glad you weren't hurt worse Kellanv.

Speaking of insurance companies replacing helmets, when I crashed back in April my insurance company told me they would replace my helmet. Since I couldn't find a scratch on it, I didn't see much sense in it. I was 99.9% sure I hadn't hit my head.

So I asked them about replacing my First Gear jacket that had a small rip in the sleeve. "No, we don't replace them. The law requires you to have a helmet, but not a jacket."

So much for their concern for my safety. :? I would have thought they'd have been glad to replace the jacket since it kept them from having to pay a hospital bill that for sure would have been a LOT more than the cost of the jacket.
