Welcome aboard! As long as you're comfortable on the bike, the weight shouldn't be an issue. It actually might be helping you, ergonomically speaking. Enjoy the forums.

MoJo, Ride what you like and feel comfortable on, maybe one day you go bigger (when ready), maybe not.

Who cares what you ride as long as you are having fun and are safe!
