All keys lost...
Here's a technical problem.
I lost both my keys.
Anyone know a source for ignition switches. Can I use a universal one and pull out the OEM or do I need to buy an OEM?

You can get an OEM switch, but it will cost you more than getting an aftermarket switch. EMGO might make one specifically for your bike.
Another alternative is taking your ignition switch out and taking it to a locksmith to get a key made from the tumbler pattern/key code marked on the cylinder.
Keep in mind that if you get a new ignition, your new key will not open your gas cap or your seat lock/helmet lock. Best to take the ignition to a locksmith.

I don't have a gas cap lock. My only concern with aftermarket is that it won't have the whole "start, park, lock" etc positions...or are these on all bikes? EMGO's website was under construction so I'll have to check back with them later.
I definitely don't want to pay dealer prices for a new one.
Sounds like a locksmith is the best option. Do I need to find one that specializes in auto keys?

Just about any locksmith worth their salt should be able to do it, but you will probably have more luck with one that does automotive locks/ignitions.Sounds like a locksmith is the best option. Do I need to find one that specializes in auto keys?
Get yourself a list of locksmiths out of the yellow pages and then pay them a visit with your ignition switch, starting at the closest and working out from there.

Go to a locksmith with the ignition and they'll be able to do it for you. Don't get fooled into paying $75 for the job though. It should only cost approximately $10 a key.CNF2002 wrote: Sounds like a locksmith is the best option. Do I need to find one that specializes in auto keys?

Thanks for all the tips! I called around and found a place that would do it for about $25 for a couple of keys.

Good grief, finally got the ignition switch off. Been calling around and NO ONE will do this. One guy said he would for $80. You've gotta be kidding me
and the locksmith I called before won't meet me, he just wants me to mail it to him.
