At what temperature do you say NO WAY?

I am newbie and really don't like the cold but my minimum riding temperature keeps getting lower. My last ride was at 40 degrees and I said that is cold enough but then today the sun was shining and the temp was 35 and I thought it was a good day to "charge the battery" so I went for a 10 mile quick chill.

It all depends on the other conditions to go with the temperature. I rode today because it was a clear enough and dry day. The temp was about 10C (50F). It felt like Spring.

I will ride down to close to freezing providing the roads are safe.

Well I rode all winter. I only ride when the streets aren't icy if it is below freezing, dry but cold. I say no way to about 26 degrees and below. Other wise my hands turn into cubecicles, and I wear snowboarding gloves. You basically need to be a big marshmellow going down the road.

Good thing it's around 60 degrees here now. SPRING!

Last winter, I stopped about 22 degrees.

This winter my limit is 32. (Damned ice got me last year.)

I rode last week in 24 degree temps. I've ridden in 15 degrees.

My bike does not have a fairing. What I hate the most is that I feel like Charlie Brown once I'm fully geared up in the winter stuff... I cannot turn my head around as far as I'm used to for one thing and that is what makes me most unhappy.

I've got an electric jacket liner and heated handgrips that have now been augmented with handguards.

Yep, I have the whole Gerbing heated gear set up, otherwise I wouldn't be able to ride as long or as soon. Our season up here stops, there is not winter riding due to the ice and snow that is on the roads, (not to mention the extreme cold) so the riding season is usually mid April to late September or if it hasn't snowed yet, middle of October.

I don't like the "Michlen Man" syndrome, so spent the extra on socks (yes, socks), they plug into the pants, jacket and gloves that plug into the jacket, and the whole setup plugs into the bike via one plug in. Also have the Reostats that you can control both sets to whatever temp you want, that is ideal. Oh, yeah, also have the heated hand grips.....

Yep, I'm spoiled, but paid my dues already, so that's okay!!

I have no car; I will ride all winter. Here in GA it gets into the single digits a few times every winter. The only thing I MUST keep warm is my hands, and my heated gloves and Aerostich (with wool underneath) will get me through this winter.

Am I hard core or just stupid? No, wait, nevermind, I'm just broke....

I'll ride if it's above 30 degrees and the roads are clear. Not too much - just enough to remind the bike that it's loved and to get the cobwebs out of my head. Besides, in our neck of the woods, we can sometimes get a three-day stretch of temps in the 50's, even 60's during the winter. Now that makes for a nice treat!

That's simple, at what temperature does the gas freeze?
