Yamaha FZ1 and Yamaha FZ1 Fazer

#1 Unread post by wickedrider »

Can someone help me? Is there a difference between the FZ1 and the FZ1 Fazer? If so, what is it? They look the same. Seemingly their specs are the same.

I recently bought an FZ6 and its amazing...

My friends just bought a 250 ninja and a 650 ninja so I have had the chance to ride them all and the FZ6 in my opinion is by far a more fun bike..

the 250 ninja is great to learn on if you can afford a new bike next season.
I thought the 650 ninja was alright... i read alot of reviews and I think the the reviews are a little over excited about the bike.. at below 4 rpm it rattles and makes not 'sexy' noises

just my 2c

Could be the bike you rode. Mine doesn't do that.

As far as I know if your between FZ6 and a Ninja 650 your looking at 2 completely different engines... I have no clue about the details but this makes these two very different... if its your first bike then the ninja could be an option but the fz6 pulls ALOT harder.. (not meant to say that the 650 is a wussy bike just less power)

Both are fun and I am very excited to have both parked at my garage ready to roll anytime

Yeah, the FZ6 has the R6's I4 598 cc motor, while the Ninja 650 has the parallel twin 64tysomething. Either way, they're fast!

Oh, absolutely. I'm not being defensive of the bike - I don't care who does or doesn't like it. I do and thats all that matters to me. I was just commenting on the rattling. ;)

The FZ6 was not comfortable for me, but the engine was definitely more powerful than the ninja 650, which seems to be a pretty forgiving bike to me so far. And its more than fast enough for me right now given some of the speeds I've hit.
