honda cb250 w. w`ont start

i have a honda cb250 w, 1999- t reg, it has been stood since august 2006
the choke cable had seized up so i replaced it ,tried yo start it and it w`ont
start. there`s a brand new battery on it and i drained the petrol off and refilled it, it`s firing ok but will not start can anyone help please. [/b]

Stand-by for the barrage of 'clean the carbs' replies to follow.... :wink:

I'll just mention the other obvious thing...... make sure you have spark at the plugs as well.

You said it'll fire. Did you pull the plugs to see if they spark, or does it sometimes kinda backfire through the carburetors? You could have the coils wired backwards.

:roll: Or you might need to clean your carbs.

if you can get it to fire off on carb. cleaner or propane, it is a fuel delivery problem (most likely).

did someone say clean the carbs.....
