The pics above look like regular Mobil 1 as best I can tell. How do you tell the difference then between the two types of Mobil 1?

I read the product data sheet for the oil and the 5w30 and 10w30 versions contain anti-friction modifiers while it specifically states that the 10w40 does not. So, all that's left is the amount of zinc and phosphorus in the oil which isn't an issue for my water-cooled and [relatively] slow-turning engine (redlines the same as my pickup truck).

If you don't trust it, use something else.

Good information, but I wish they elaborated on the "reference oil" they use to call a motor oil energy conserving or not. Great links, though!
