I got my first bike admirer!

#1 Unread post by IcyHound »

The b/f and I rolled into the gas station on our bikes (Ninja 500's) and this guy kinda scultted across the station, wound up moving his car by our pump and chattered with us as we filled up.

He admired the bikes, told us how much he liked motorcycles and etc. We talked to him about the MSF, encourged him to sign up and try it. How it was really cheap (135 here) to learn how to ride and see if its something he wants to persue. How they provide almost everything for you and if he really wants to get into it, take the course and get into it!

We discussed the price of bikes, the cost of gas, how much we where enjoying our bikes. I encourged him to go to the bike shop and talk to them (they support MSF, a lot of them race etc) and just try it out instead of putting it off longer.

It was really cool. There where envious eyes darting towards us at the gas station as well. I did my best not to grin at all the men that kept craning their heads around the pumps to stare at the two of us.

And yes, we where behaved in all of our brighly colored geared splendor. And filling the bikes was a breeze.

Not bad for day two of being lisenced riders. I really enjoyed preaching the msg of proper training and riding and gear.

IcyHound,

Congrats on getting those beautiful Ninjas out on the road.
It sound like you're being a good ambassador for the joys and safe riding of motorcycles.
Be proud, stand tall and represent.
Well done.

Good for you but don't let it go to your heads. You're still new at this so get out there and ride and learn. Nothing like the road to teach you and build your confidence.
Ride safe. :)

Heh

The last thing I am is arrogant or inflated of ego. I've already been put into my place by my bike and my riding skills and I wasn't even trying to do anything but turn.

Yes, but apparently you're incorrigible with all your advice, Sage Bubba. ;)

Where are you guys in NOVA? I'm in Woodbridge myself. If you two aren't to far away, we should ride sometime (if you don't mind hanging with a cruiser :) )
