Help! Looking for boots....

I'm looking for boots. I see all knids of different "protection" gimmicks, but I don't know what's gimmick and what's real.
So, I come to my trusty new friends for help.
Here's what I need / want:
- Protective as all hell! (I'm a newb, remember.)
- Cool enough for Phoenix summers. (It was 90 today!)
- Flexible / comfortable enough to walk in.
- Can go underneath pants. (The track is a looong way off.)
- Street variety. Preferrably shoe-style.
- Sexy for the ladies. (Of course it's important....lol)
Can I get some suggestions? Tips for what is truly protective? Ideas?

Hey Bubba. I was at a harley dealer yesterday looking at a bunch of the boots. It seemed to me that all of their riding boots are just normal boots. I didnt feel just plastic or steel toes in any of them. None of them seems to have any type of ankle protector and none of them had anything to protect your lower shin.

So, do HD riding boots normally provide a good amount of protection in a fall? Or are they mostly for looks. Thanks.

They have riding and after-riding boots. I have a pair that are pretty good - you want them over the ankle, good thick leather (or abrasion resisting material) and slick resistant soles at a minimum. The harley 'high performance' line is going to be the FXRG boots. The others will just be good solid leather boots. They're made by Wolverine, I believe, and rebranded HD. Wolverine is a good company.

Sidi is another I have experience with and will vouch for. I'm sure some others will pipe in with other suggestions as well. Happy boot hunting!

Important to me is protects my ankle well, has good soles and they have to be comfy. Goto your local red wing store and find a style you like...worth every penny.
