Can I talk about how much fun I had today!!!!!!!!!

#1 Unread post by NightNurse »

Before today, I had been learning to ride my boyfriends Ninja 250 in big parking lots. Yesterday I finally got on my own bike (1994 Yamaha Virago 535)! Today the bf and I took it to a parking lot, with some small turns. I was a little nervous, but did well. Then he got his bike, and we took it easy on quiet streets in our neighborhood. Got more brave, and we cruised all over town, for nearly 2 hours!!!!!!!!! I had a blast. I can't wait for tomorrow. Following him around, was a great way to learn and feel a bit more confident.

Im taking the MSF class in June, couldnt get in till then!

Im very happy with my bike purchase, couldnt be a rider forever ;)!

p.s. I stalled twice for the first time today! No biggie, I got it started and back at riding.

Awesome! Congratulations... i'm so happy for you! Nothing like riding your own bike. And a 2 hour ride around town is the best way to see your area!

Ah, don't worry about stalling. It takes some practice with finding that friction zone, and more so since you were use to the ninja already.

Keep it up! Soon it'll be your boyfriend trying to catch up and lead

Thanks!! Its an awesome feeling. I tease him , and say he wont be able to catch up with me one day :D. He has been riding 13 years or so!

I realized, I have stalled in a stick shift car, years after learning to drive one! So it will happen from time to time. Plus, I got very used to the Ninja. This bike rides a lot different, but is much more comfy for me. And the perfect height!

no worries with the stallings. I used to stall a couple times a day, and now I haven't stalled my bike in over three months.

Monterey...ah I love that city!
I moved to Louisville from San Diego a little over a year ago. I miss the weather, year round biking without a ton of gear would be nice!!

Im sure I will get over the stalling soon. I just get a litte nervous at a stop sign or ligth when its time to go! Screw up, stall, restart and get the heck outta there! Luckily it was on really low traffic side streets. Lots of people waved at us riding, smiled...it was amusing :D.

I'm going to be in Louisville in June (in my cage unfortunately). I'll have to keep my eyes open for a Ninja and a Virago traveling together.

well since you mentioned monterey..

I went to Louisville just a few months back. I visited the baseball bat museum and brought my rollerskates to "Louisville Extreme park". I'm guessing you know where it is, its the big concrete skate park right off the high way from the north.
