it sounds a lot like the bike I picked up in January, 85 yamaha maxim 700, turn signals didn't work and it only ran on two cylinders because the carbs needed to be cleaned. The guy had bought it from the original owner who kept it immaculate, he bought it and rode it one year, then decided he wanted a sportbike. So I came along and bought the bike for $500, I got a good bike with no cosmetic flaws except the right handlebar was scuffed up a teeny bit. I fixed the turn signals and brought the bike in to a shop for a carb job, now it purrs!
The best part is that it only has 5,000 miles on it. I feel like it's brand new still. :D Anyways, I'm talking too much about myself.

Good find on the ninja, it looks like a great find! :D

ya when I first got my bike I took it for a spin around the block. I got a ways away down the street and then I thought, "hey what happens if I get a ticket?" I then turned straight around and put her in the garage.

haha, yeah pretty much the exact same thing here, I can barely stand letting it sit there but i've decided it's better i not drive it now and stand the boredom than get caught drving unlicensed and not drive for a very long time as i am still on a probationary type license. Graduated licencing in canada.
