Me and the ground are REAL good friends. Though only on the XR200R so far. I've dropped that easily 30 times. Even got put in the hospital once on it.
Had a few close calls on the ninja, but those afor mentioned 30 times were the only times out of hundreds that i've been close on the dirtbike (i'll admit, for my dirtbike riding level, i ride a tad too hard) have taught me what to and not to do in a sticky situation.
The best piece of advice i can offer is don't panic. When you panic, you freeze. When you freeze, odds are, you're going to become aquainted with the ground. Trust me on this.

I've been riding for alittle bit over a year and havent drop it yet but i've been real close a bunch of times. It's been either rolling it out of a parking space and one time I had a run in with an oily patch on a wet road but that's a diffrent story.
Don't think about droping the bike, just concentrate on perfecting your skills. The more you think about it the more likely it'lll be to happen.

Well since all of you who have gone down are just too cool for school, I decided I had to join your little group.
Actually, a girl decided to run a right light and rather than an intimate encounter with her windshield I elected to lay down. My knee is a little whiny, but other than that I'm good. I think if I hadn't been wearing my boots my left ankle would have either been severely sprained if not broken. My bike lost the little metal piece that you scrape underneath your footpeg, but other than that there's just a few scratches on my bar end.
Unfortunately no one decided to stop..no witnesses = no ticket for the girl. Booo.

I'm glad you are relatively okay considering what could have happened!Nalian wrote:Well since all of you who have gone down are just too cool for school, I decided I had to join your little group.
