Hey man I have an 87 hurricane. the first thing i had to do was replace the fork seals. You just gotta find a good dealer. Honda specific preferably. I ride my honda everywhere and its a blast . And checking from this months Cycle World comparison your not going to get a better bike for the buck! I paid 1200 cash for mine and it holds its own. It was a little much when i first got on it, but i keep finding room to improve, even on a 20 year old bike. The comfort is awesome as well. DONT SELL IT! Just keep it going until you get a car. I rode all year with out a car in mid missouri and it was the best thing ive done financially as a 21 year old. I finally got a honda passport to drive during the winter, but you wont go wrong with keeping that bike.

Back off everyone...didn't you see that he has talked to tons of folks who got their bikes this way. It's a VERY common way for folks to get their bikes...Yeah, it's a little known fact, but tons of folks get bikes this way....dare I say even tons and tons of folks do it....like 4 outta 5 or something..ain't that right Moto.

If it's just for a commute to work in a downtown environment, why not consider a scooter? Nice little Vespa etc.

The question is not how much you are in debt...but OMG what are your interest rates on the last few loans you got? They are either around or above 10% or you are drinking buddies with an underwriter.

I would sell the car and get a bike.
I used to live in Portland, OR. There is really no need for a car there! The lightrail comes every 10 minutes, there are TONS of bus lines, you can walk anywhere downtown...the only thing I used my car for was grocery shopping (or going out of town). You can rent a car there by the hour as well . Most people I know there dont own a car.

]OR sell the car, buy a bike, and buy a car. You can get like pre 95 toyota pick ups for pretty cheap nowadays.

GOOD CALL. I have my VFR and a 94 toyota pickup. I like the 90-94 body style the best.
