I've been waiting for a Walmart-quality bike.

I bet the maintenance manual has only 1 task...

3,000 miles: Replace bike.

haha, those bikes remind me of the little crappy 50cc bikes and 50 and 90cc ATV`s that are sold at Canadian tire. They look as if they are ridden over a speed bump tghey forks`ll just snap in two

Ok, here is a website that sells the same bike for same price.

http://www.motorxtremes.com/motorcycles/index.html

Here is a link to the parts for it. Are these prices fair?

90 Day Warranty...

Isn't a standard warranty on a japanese bike something like 2 years and 20000+ km?

That alone should tell you they have no faith in their product.

I don't know about those specifically, but I've worked on both Konker's and E-ton's and I wouldn't even consider buying one of those for someone that I know or like, let alone for myself. And from what I understand the ones I mentioned are considered good so far as Chinese bikes go.

If a deal seems too good to be true, then it probably is.

You'll also notice that some of their units carry the same names as bikes that already carry a good name. The Tornado and Hornet spring to mind immediately.

All in all, I wouldn't touch one.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Neither would I. These are the cheaply made Chinese knock-off bikes. The first link I found amusing. Retail price L $2,999. HAHAHAHAHA!

These bikes are sold to unsuspecting folks that look at the bike and think they're getting something comparable to the Japanese version. The 90 day warranty is the tipoff (notice that it is "parts only"). I've worked on a lot of these (neighbors keep bringing them over) and 90 days is about how long you should expect it to go without some major problem cropping up. The warranty is really not worth anything, since there are no dealer networks to supply parts. Indivudual importers get them straight from China and ship to your door. They don't stock parts. Once they've got your money, they will have little interest in your problems.

I actually feel bad when I start prepping one to sell to someone :(. But you're right Flyin, they are being sold to the people that don't know any better.

We had a scooter come back two days ago because, "the turn signal indicator lights (little green ones) weren't working. And he (I swear he was 90) couldn't tell if they were on or not. Turn the key and check, yeah they light up, they're just not bright at all.

Well there must be a problem, "they wouldn't let it go out like that. No one would send it out like that they're useless. It must be a bad ground or something."

"I'm sorry sir, but if it were a bad ground nothing would work."

"Well it must be the ignition switch you replaced that must be stopping them from being bright."

"No sir, those little indicator lights don't go through the ignition, that's not it."

"How do you know?"

"I've looked through the wiring diagram."

"Well they wouldn't let it go out like that, they're totally useless."

How do you nicely tell someone they just spent $2100 on a Chinese made piece of "poo poo"?
