Starting out smoothly was the big thing for me, because I would get nervous pulling out into traffic. Going slow and uturns came pretty easy, I think from all the mountain biking I've done. I can sit in one place indefinently on a bicycle without touching the ground...little harder on somthing 325lbs heavier, but I think many of the manuvering skills translate. All these things are also a lot easier on those little bikes you get to use in the class. Also practice being invisible...because it seems to me as soon as you put on a helmet....you are.

You can also buy the orange cones at walmart. They are in the sporting goods section. Pretty cheap for a set.

We use cones, but the blow away on windy days  Tennis balls will stay better.
