Maybe it's just me but I'm thinking that taking a bike down at 70-80 isn't such a good thing either.Flipper wrote:I'm guessing that crashing at 170mph feels about the same as crashing at 180mph.....give or take.....

Well half the momentum, half the distance to slide, less distance might lower your probability of going off the road or hitting a light pole.
I know a few guys that went down at 70 and were mostly ok. Don't know anyone off the track who survived at faster speeds.

The CBR has alot more mid range than an early model 01-02 Kawi, and the 03-05 kawi 600 (not the 636)sucked until it was wound all the way up. The R6 has the best mid-range until you get to the 07 models, where the CBR then takes over.
No bike is idiot proof and an SV650 has more torque at the bottom than any of these and is more prone to "throw" a person if you suddenly grab a handful at low rpm.
I have not raced the R6, however I've spent alot of time on a friend's. I have raced a 2001 SV-650, a 2002 ZX-6R, a 2003 CBR 600, and a 2005 CBR 600. The ZX-6 was the most dissapointing in all aspects from motor to handling. I've also spent quite a bit of time on the Kawi's from 2000-2004 both the 600 and the 636. The kawi is the bike of choice at the superbike school.
And last comment, this is a ridiculous thread... which bike is least likely to throw a person off ? come on

Normaly I would say buy what you want, but if your worried about getting thrown off...I'd say stay in your cage. Oh, and I have a 2007 R6S. I read that it will do a little over 160 stock..But I seriously doubt it will ever do that with me on it. Don't just use your head for a place to hang your helmet.
Luck often favors the one who doesn't count it in their plans
