Dyin'? Boy, he can have this little life any time he wants to. Do ya hear that? Are ya hearin' it? Come on. You're welcome to it, ol' timer. Let me know you're up there. Come on. Love me, hate me, kill me, anything. Just let me know it.

On an S50... it does have tiny little brakes up front, but I guess it could happen if he had enough traction on the front wheel.
I've had the KZ650's back end up up a bit, but it has dual discs in the front. Again, I guess it is more a matter of the traction of the rubber and the angle of momentum... if the front end can lock up, then it obviously has more braking power than you do traction. So with a weak front brake, maybe the full pull was right to the limit of the tire's traction, and the back end came up a bit?
You should probably practice your emergency stops.. because on a bike with stronger brakes, you could have gone flying.

Heh, didn't think I'd spark a debate about the physics of stoppies -- I was sharing my experience with my fellow newbies, underscoring the value of keeping the eyes open for potential threats and emergency stop practice.
But yes, the back wheel came off the ground. I very distinctly felt the bike buck up and come back down with a thud -- a situation I hope to hell never happens to me again. So don't expect me to try to recreate the incident and post a video. Not gonna do it.
And for the physicists out there, it's an S50, not a C50. Brake on the front end is a 12" (I guess that's ~30cm) disc.
