The price of stupidity
Well there has been quite a few motorcycle related deaths over the past week or so in my area, but one shines out above all the others. I Had just left my house Wednesday evening about 7:30 figuring traffic had lightened up by then. I wasn't but maybe a mile from home on a major road, when I see this guy coming towards me on a sport bike, and he's standing up. I know he's about to be an idiot, or rather let everyone else know that he's an idiot. I was not disapointed. Sure enough just as I'm turning off of that road this guy does a wheelie. I'm moving pretty slow at this point turning into a small neighborhood. I turn my head and say to a woman sitting at the stop sign " Look, and Organ donor". Well.....That moron crashed doing that very wheelie, he was doing 80 mph. Now I don't know who he was trying to impress, me? people in cars? I'm sure everyone was thinking the same thing. Idiot. well, now he's a dead idiot. People like this give all motorcyclists a bad name, but especially us sportbike riders. If you must be a complete Jack a ss, go get a dirt bike or something. I think the only people that think that garbage is cool is the other morons doing it. well RIP idiot. And his friend is stupid enough to say in the newspaper" He was a badass rider doing a badass trick". Action without thought. Isn't riding already dangerous enough

I didn't actually see him crash because I turned. If I hadn't turned and said something to the woman in the car, I might have seen it. But I didn't even know that he had crashed and died till the next day at work when my co-worker asked if I had heard about it, and I was Like "holy spit, I saw that moron in action !!" Apparently he had a myspace page, and on it he listed his ocupation as doing wheelies....guess he's fired. Oh he also work as a bike mechanic at a local shop..I'm sure that addition in the paper is doing wonders for their buisness.

The kid had no fear; he just happened to ride motorcycles. Here's a little bit more about Dennis Krone.
Rider dies popping wheelie
Dennis Krone had a love for speed. Wednesday he was going 80 mph.

C'mon now folks.....!
Let's have some respect for the dead. Sure he was doing something dumb; stunting on a public road. But, it sounds like he didn't come into contact with anyone, so that's not what caused him to crash.
We can't go around calling people idiots because they passed away doing something they loved to do that is dangerous. Otherwise, when one of us passes away going too hot in a twisty or getting hit by a SUV while touring; we give non-riders the right to call us idiots. I don't believe that would be OK by any of us.
Let's not make fun of a kid who was guilty of being a kid........
