I miss the gas milage on my old Ninja 250, that thing used to get 65mpg no matter how I rode it. My bike now averages about half of that, but I have no problem gassing up the bikes, it's definately worth it to me and I'll continue to rack up the miles no matter how high gas prices get........ cages to me is a different story.
It's not what you ride......... It's how you ride

Sweet thanks for all the replies, right now i have a 89' ninja 600 and was just curious on the mpg it got, things had been happening to it and i have had to replace a lot of stuff on it. Especially when your throttle cord snaps in the middle of a turn with 25 cars behind you, thats fun. The throttle cord i have on there now is even more razor sharp then before so i feel as if i am getting use to it all over again ha.
But one thing it runs perfect for like 3 and a half miles and then it starts missing and loosing power and when i am stopped the bike can barely keep a good idle. It jumps all around from under 1K to 3K and get stuck up there for a second so i gotta turn my idle back down. I usually have it idle between 1K and 2K. But its almost as if once the bike warms up it runs crappy?!

Is that 4 bucks a gallonUS? Petrol is costing around the £1 mark overhere.
The main question is what do you consider a Sportsbike?
If we are talking 'supersports' then I would say >250cc bikes less than 10 years old are going to carry it, because supersports just aren't fuel efficent.
Things like the Hyosung GT250R/S, Ninja 250 and the Babyblade
