Thanks for the advise Rule & Flyn, it made me cringe a few times but I dropped down to fourth and had awesome response/power to pass and accelerate! Ran it at much higher revs this weekend and noticed a big difference in my freeway driving.

It takes a while, but you'll get used to it. Although, I never could run my old XS400 at 7500 rpm for any length of time without thinking it was going to blow up!

That's funny. When I first got my bike (I was still learning), I felt like the engine was going to explode if I was going over 100kmh. (60mph).
I eventually got over that feeling. :laughing:

I upped the gearing in my SV and now it redlines at 50mph in first, I tried riding it only in first for a mile or two this morning, 0-50mph city and such, amusing, but I decided I prefer to use the other gears as well
