Clutch Problem????
Clutch Problem????
I have a 2002 Suzuki GSXR750. I came through a corner by my house and released the clutch handle and it acted like it was in neutral. I did pull the cover to the clutch and the plates look burn but the oil level was fine. Any ideas?????

If the plates look burned... you need to replace them.
Have you been slipping your clutch overmuch? Or clutching up into wheelies?
You'll also need to check to see if the metal discs have either warped or blued. Best done by a shop.[/b]

Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

if the metal plates look blue you're going to need new plates, and new fiber discs. You're also going to need to make sure that they stack to the same height as the old stuff.
Then you need to check your clutch basket and clutch hub for wear. The "fingers" should be un notched and smooth.
