It's not just limited to sportbike riders, you see low mileage bikes of all types for sale on a regular basis. Some people just don't like to ride as much as others, some view motorcycles as a fair weather only toy, some let other commitments get in the way of their riding time, some just can't handle the power and weight of their machines... be it Harleys, Gold Wings, metric cruisers or whatever. There's high and low mileage examples of EVERY bike model out there.Veda wrote:I would imagine lots of the people are newbs, buy the super sport, get scared by its power, never learn to ride it well so they just sell.
A freak for riding my sportbike more than 100km a month?

Oh, I didn't say that I thought I rode a lot. I said I figured I rode less than most people. The number of guys out there with 1000 km or so on 1 year old bikes just kind of amazed me.
I can't wait to go to BC again this year. I'll put more more miles on in 2 days than these guys do in a year. heh
Some of you guys are putting some serious miles on your bikes though. That's awesome. I actually wish I had more than a friggin' 15 km round trip commute to work. Most of my riding is quick rides after the kids are in bed. *sigh* I'm definitely going to try and sneak away for a few weekend runs to some place hours away. I don't really care where it is.

Don't worry about it Kaiser. This is just a bunch of guys comparing sizes!Kaiser Soze wrote:Oh, I didn't say that I thought I rode a lot. I said I figured I rode less than most people. The number of guys out there with 1000 km or so on 1 year old bikes just kind of amazed me.

So OK, on my three bikes and a two week borrow abroad, I've done a total of 58,000 miles in two years and nine months (and that includes a total of three months of enforced non-riding due to injuries and other exceptional circumstances). But then I don't have a car, have never had one and don't ever want to have one either. So maybe this is a little on the low side do you think?
How does my biker Cred stand on that one, guys?

i've got 5300 miles on my bike since march of this year when i started riding again for the season. two weeks (including this last one) i havnt been able to ride because i keep getting flat tires and dont have time to fix them right away.
so thats over 30k on the bike at the moment.
I dont plan on selling it any time soon, or even when i get another bike, so I'm not really worried about how many miles are on it. After all, its made to be ridden.
