If you're gonna ride hard, do your best to learn how to ride well.

Don't push if you don't feel it. Some days are just awkward and your brain and hands aren't talking to each other very well.

Armadillo up (wear gear).

And remember two things:

1) No matter how far you've leaned, there's more left - LACK OF COMMITMENT sends more people into the woods then anything else. Choose life - lean it over and get back on the throttle because...

2) Lowsiding is better then highsiding or a head-on with a tree

well as of now I still havent even scraped a peg..... so I know theres a long way to go! But the problem is im worried as I get better ill get more addicted to the way it feels...... I just cant really feel a cruiser its actually uncomfortable to me!

By the time im good enough ill most likely have moved into range of a track!

I ride with guys who are pushing 50 years old and ride harder then 95% of this forum. I guess they are possible addicts

Too bad it doesn't include me and my Vulcan. I am surprised at how well it can lean at a good clip. I can also slalom the thing as well (I found a college parking lot with lots of cones and no cars).

I think it's time to get some self control before you end up scaring the crud out of yourself and learn a lesson from a close call or end up worse. I mean the amount of people pulling out on you would have you think to yourself to slow down a bit.

whats funny is in the year I have been riding I have had 2 (yes I can count them on one hand) people ever pull out in front of me. 1 was on the highway where they actually pulled into my lane and I had my wife on the back and the other was on my way to work a guy pulled out in front of me with his huge arse boat. I consider that normal for driving a vehicle (cause we all know that people will pull out in front of you even if you are driving a huge semi).

as for OP I have scraped my pegs and my chrome exhaust but I was learning the limits of the bike and at lower speeds (im talking 25mph turning right or left and a 90 Degree turn). I learned the lean limits and now never exceed or come close to getting to where I will scrape the pegs. This is on a cruiser though. If its on a crotch rocket im not so sure you want to lean far enough to hit the pegs cause you may be in for a bigger surprise than you want.
