Newb in NY

#1 Unread post by zenn68 »

Hey all.
Been reading trough here for a couple days. Great info.
I am a soon to be new rider in New York, Currently NYC but moving upstate by end of summer.
I am 39, and have signed up for the MSF course later this month.
I guess this is my midlife crisis. I have always wanted a bike, but for whatever reason it's taken till now to finally happen. Maybe i'm better off, I think if I had gotten a bike 20yrs ago, I'd prob be dead. Anyway, what do you guys think of a Honda Rebel as a first bike for someone who's never really ridden.

:welcome: to TMW.

Smart thinking to take the course. You'll get a lot out of it.

You will find the Honda Rebel will be easy to maneuver around and good on gas.

It's often what is used in the motorcycle schools.

Welcome Zenn, I have heard that the honda rebal is a great bike to start on. But I have also heard that you out grow it pretty quickly. I was told that if I was going to get a rebal to find a good cheap used one to start on. I choose instead to go with a Honda Shadow 750 ACE and it is working out well ( I am a big guy though ) I have had no problems controling it. Just my two cents worth. You will find some great advice on this site. Welcome again.
