BMF show '05 - write-up and Pics!!!!

#1 Unread post by Keyoke »

Sorry it's taken a while to get around to posting this, but with moving house over the last couple of weeks it's been a bit of a nightmare!!

So,

The weekend began with XJRjohn and Wingman getting a head start and getting to the Peterborough showground at around 3pm. This was after getting the immbilisor sorted on Wingman's Pacific coast, as the batteries had died in the remote!! They were met there shortly afterward by Nibblet.

Miss_C667 and Myself didnt finish work until 11pm, so finally arrived on site at about midnight, after a very nice (and dry) ride down there - everyone else had gotten a thorough soaking on the way!

Most of the weekend was spent trying to avoid the major downpours, along with the seemingly impossible task of finding me a new helmet :)

XJRJohn got a new (and rather shiney) tax disc holder, Miss_C667 attacked the clothing acessory stalls with a vengeance, and spent waaay too much money! :) and I finally found a new lid (AGV Demon V-top, see safety forum)

There were many stands ands many new bikes to take a look at, unfortunately with time constraints we missed wuite a few, too! (hope to see more at the tail-ender in sept!)

Thankfully the rain didn't completely ruin the weekend, in fact we even got to see a stunt display with 3 guys who obviously had a death-wish!

Sunday was a bit brighter, so I got to have a good look around the auto-jumble and found some new mirrors for the XJR, finally replacing the mis-matched ones I had on before...:)
Anyway, below are some photos, hopefully the other people that were there will contribute to the writeup, as I have now ran out of time!

Don't give up.

Not now, not soon, not after being continually knocked down.

Quite an impressive set up. Look like a great time &, as you say a Huge turn out.

Too bad about the rain! Typical Brit weather I spose....

Finally BMW have made a bike that isn't Ugly (not keen on the yellow rims etc.) ....& they got rid of that Boxer engine....Yeah!

It's supposed to be a real fire breather! 8)

I like the way they set up the bikes to make them 'Fall Over' - fool proof & also the checker plate will stop the bikes sinking into thr muddy grounds

Drats! :frusty: I was hoping to live vicariously through your experience. On the other hand...I really like the FJR too. (Too bad Yamaha won't import it to the US. )
