Repainting/repairing scratched fairing

#1 Unread post by cab22g »

I just purchased a 1993 Kawasaki EX500 (Ninja 500R) And it came pretty scratched up, but with only a small crack around 1 screw on the fairing. I was thinking about getting that part painted and having the crack sealed.

Do you know about how much it would cost to repaint the scratched parts back to the standard color or maybe paint the whole bike 1 color? And what's the best way to seal a small crack yourself? It's so small, I'm assuming glue would work, but I want to make sure before doing anything.

Also, does anybody know of any cheap places to get paint done in Chicagoland?

The scratches are in the circles and the square showe where the tiny crack around the screw is.

I've been quoted $1200 to get my bike painted, and it's got less surface area then yours... and that was a "friend rate." So I dunno... it's likely you could get it touched up for a couple hundred at the most though.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
