This can't be. Tomorrow I'm going on it, and my dad is going to drive his car (bmw x5) next to me and were going to see if the speedo is wrong.
errr......how sure are you that the cage's speedo is accurate?
I don't know. I'm assuming a speedometer on a performance machine is designed to be somewhat accurate.
Your R6 is a performance machine... more so than your dads X5.

i don;t know what I would have done. When I was your age, there was no internet. just folks around me saying "easy guy" and all. I sometimes listened and sometimes didn;t. All I am saying is that even though no one really knows you or me in the flesh and all, we still want you in 1 piece. that bike you have sure is sweet. I WISH i was as fortunate as you to have a dad who'd let me have any bike let alone a super sweet bike like you have when I was your age. So with that, just be careful, have fun, and be responsible.

thats all.
Thanks,
Hal

I don't think that there's doubt that it CAN reach that speed, but let's look at the circumstances under which it COULD reach that speed. The track is where that kind of speed can be reached and maintained, where everything is smooth, wide, and where there are no other cars, bikes, or police going a more reasonable speed around you.

I don't know... I'm in Australia, so we deal with kp/h down here. All I have to say is that if I were to be pulled over on an R6 doing 165kp/h (not mp/h) on a public road, being a relatively newly licensed rider with false plates on my bike, I would be looking at needing to post bail. If an experienced rider was caught doing it, I imagine it would be the same story. No matter how nice the cop is, that's his job on the line if anyone finds out he let someone walk who broke that many laws.
You'll have to speak up... I'm wearing a towel.

i have a few thoughts reading this thread.

* you and your dad have the same sized head... that's amazing!!!

* where was the harley? if it was keeping up, how come no ticket?

* what sort of cop writes a ticket for a plate not matching up and then lets someone else drive off on that bike?

* if this story is true i can see why you didn't listen to anyone on this board when they tried to guide you to a different bike... it must be genetic
