Doesn't give me pause.

I know it's dangerous. I don't need to see the bodies to know.

I could put together a similar site for automobile accidents in about half an hour. Would that give you pause about driving?

Wow.. Umm.. just a guess, but I'm sure that the riders vs trucks senario doesnt happen often. Not only do you have to be in the wrong situation at the wrong time, but you also have to be near a large truck. My dad used to be a truck driver and his trailer is very light when theres no load in it. It bounces up and down on virtually every crack, so unless theres a big load in the truck, then it would be difficult to crush someones helmet.

You DO realise that car crashes can be just as bad right? Maybe even more brutal in some cases.

Wear your gear.

I have a black HJC fullface, and I'm wearing a Joe Rocket Comet jacket, which is made for winter. I also wear Joe Rocket gloves.

I live in Florida. Temperatures here have been in the upper 90s.

I'm waiting on a mesh jacket (it's an odd size so it's on back order) but there is NO WAY I'm going out without my full gear. I had to move the bike to a visitor parking lot the other day, which was less than 100 feet from where I was parked, but I suited up.

I just remember All The Gear, All The Time. That was somewhere on this forum....but yes, safety over comfort, any day.

Nah. He was probably doing stoppies without a helmet, which I would never do (stoppies period OR stoppies without a helmet).

I know if I get injured, there's a solid chance I did what I could to minimize it, and if not, that there was nothing I could have done. But then again, I'm not reckless.

Wear whatever you want. Go naked if you want. You are responsible for yourself. We're not here to babysit or make you do anything. Weigh the options of gear vs none and decide what level of risk YOU are comfortable with then ride, ride, ride.
A dog had his chain reduced one link at a time, every few days, until his chain was so short he could barely move. He never resisted because he was conditioned to the loss of his freedom slowly, over time. Are we in this country becoming like the dog?

I'm rather go head on vs another truck in my ranger. It has seatbelts and air bags and crumple zones. The bike.... Well, i'm going to leave you with three words: Failure to fly.

The only pause it causes me, is when I pause to gear up. I may not be an angel when it comes to ATGATT, but I do my best.

I've seen the results, in person, after someone has bitten off more than they can chew when it comes to riding, bifurcated passengers turn my stomach... in that accident, two bikes, three dead riders,  and a truck driver that will never drive again. Not due to injuries or charges, just the mental trauma, it wasn't completely his fault, I would only assess him 10% of fault, if that.
