That always makes me think of this clip.

Well, this one too, but then I feel shame for laughing.

this is one of the reasons i refuse to take friends for a ride now, unless they're better protected then me. And I have full gear, even if it's designed with a touring use in mind.

it's not just limited to women on the back of some guy's bike... check out the guy (or girl) driving the bike - half the time they're clad in next to nothing... i can't count the number of times i've seen some rider out there with a full face helmet protecting their head and almost nothing protecting the rest of their body... gotta protect more than just your head...
Aye, but most of the time passengers are more ignorant than the rider. The rider generally has to pass a test to get their license.

if they decide to get a license!!!

on the way home this evening, saw two guys cutting in and out of traffic, slipping between the center of two cars when they couldn't legally pass, wearing ff helmets, short, t-shirts and tennis shoes... one of the guys had a ff helmet attached to his bike - guess that would be for his scantily-clad passenger!!!

I have a decent helmet and a leather jacket when I ride. Now my
wife is going out riding with me. She bought a helmet and then got
a good deal on some chaps, but I told her she needs a leather
jacket as well. After reading this I'm going to really push the issue.

I'll add my 2 cents. Stupidest thing I ever saw was in Daytona Beach in 1977. Guy in just a bathing suit, girl in a bikini, no shoes on either of them.

Guess I left out that detail. Yep, on a bike with more skin showing just waiting to be road rash.

I had to laugh the other day while at a bike event.

There was a couple that mounted a harley, both just in jeans and tshirt. He put some shades on.... then decided, in the name of safety, to put some fingerless gloves on, then light a cigarette. Idiots. The wife and I just stared and shook our heads.
