Welcome to TMW and the world of motorcycling as a whole.

Patience is a required trait when learning to ride, just think of the patience you're going to need with
winter coming to Winnipeg in about three weeks...

Woohoo first day of riding down! Man what a fun time. Took me a little bit to get the hang of the clutch (never driven a standard car before) but once I got the hang of getting from neutral to first and moving, things went great!

We did some basic exercises: starting/stopping, negotiating slow speed turns, and getting into second gear. Although we were only going in a straight line while we were in second gear, I did try out a little bit of counter-steering just swerving side to side a bit to get a feel for what I've heard so much about, and by gosh it actually works! Haha!

Anyway, the next class is Thursday night, and I work tomorrow (Wed), though I fear I might not be able to focus too well  Even the whole bus ride home I just kept imagining myself slowly letting out the clutch, finding that friction zone, giving some gas, easing past the friction zone, getting some speed, shifting to second, etc. One of the most enjoyable bus rides I've had in quite some time!
