Hi guys and gals,
I need help! Today I was riding down the road @ about 55 mph and all of a sudden my engine dies. No spuddering, clanking, nothing. I pull over and attempt to start it and when I do white smoke starts pouring out of the exhaust. I'm like "great, the motor is blown". As I'm waiting for someone to come get me I try to start it and after about 5 tries it starts up and appears to be running normally, no smoke. So as I'm heading home I'm on the interstate doing about 70 and the same thing happens. Well after about 15-20 mins I'm able to get it running again (smokes when I first try to start it again) and head home to park it.
Anyone got any ideas? Earlier today I did add some oil to it thinking it was low but now I'm wondering if that is the cause of my problem. Would too much oil cause the smoke? Looking thru the level glass it appears to be on the "F" mark but it might be too high.
Could a float be sticking open and causing the engine to flood?
If anyone has any ideas please share!
Thanks!

It seemed to smell like something else. Maybe oil and gas mixed would make this different smell? The after trying to start it for a little while the white smoke would go away.
I changed the oil today but I haven't had a chance to ride it. I'll try it out tonight after the wife goes to bed. It wouldn't happen right away. I was out riding for an hour before it did it the first time. The second time it was about 15 miles down the road.
Thanks!
