Got My First Bike

Well Im 16 and I took the MSF class in june and passed it. After that my mom got a motorcycle and I have been riding her shawdow around to get used to a bike. Then yesterday I got my own one. Its nothing fancy or anything but what matters to me is that it runs and it was cheap. I have probally put on about 100 miles of my own on it already.

Yup,

Wear all your gear all the time.

Don't be a squid.

Rubber side down, helmet side up at all times.

Your bike has a built in stealth setting that NASA, the USAF and other arms manufacturers would dearly love to be able to copy, that stealth set cannot be turned off and makes you completely invisible to cage drivers, expect for law enforcement cage drivers, they can see you quite clearly.

Master your ride, don't let it master you, otherwise it will bite you square on your arse.

Always remember you are not immortal or indestructible.

And most importantly, stay safe and have a ball.

Oh, Its a 1986 VF500. It is in nice condition for how old it is.

My tip to you.
Just take it easy for a while and ride your own ride. Don't be led astray by others who may try to get you to ride beyond your ability.

If you pretend that all those cages are trying to kill you, you will do ok. As has been said they can not see you even when they are looking you in the eye.

Very smart looking bike. Looks in good nick as well.

I still love my bikes, but I envy you the excitment of getting your very first and finding out what you can do on it.

Good advice above. The only thing I would add is make sure you ride your own ride. Be aware of your own skill-level. Only push yourself as far as you feel it is safe to go. Be true to yourself and ignore all the crap that so many people talk about riding.

You can only have fun on a bike if you're alive to have it and if you have taken the trouble to learn the skills you need.
