CITYBEAT - CITY OF CALGARY PRESS RELEASE

On Thursday August 30th, 2007 at approximately 0605 hours, a
fatal motor vehicle collision occurred on Elbow Drive and 61
Avenue S.W.
A northbound Hyundai on Elbow Drive attempted to turn left
into a parking lot. A motorcycle was southbound on Elbow
Drive and was unable to stop for the Hyundai turning left in
its path.
As a result the operator of the motorcycle was injured and
transported by EMS to hospital. Unfortunately the victim
succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on August
30th,
The victim has been identified as 27 year old Jason Richard
LEPKE of Calgary.
The Calgary Police Service Traffic Section continues to
investigate this incident.

I know a friend who knew this guy personally. It's sad to hear another rider (or anyone for that matter) go at a young age
