All Gear At All Times ----- or maybe not!

#1 Unread post by spin »

it was hot today, for an october day in the northeast it got upwards of 90 degrees. so i debated (foolishly) on leaving my jacket (heavy leather, never bought a summer coat) off. by the time i started the bike i convinced myself NOT to be a fool. to compromise to myself i didnt zipper the jacket all the way. boots, gloves, jeans, jacket, full faced helmet.... all check.

i get up the hill not 40 yards or so in front of my place and i see a fellow rider passing by...... no jacket, little helmet, no gloves........

whats worse??!??!

his daughter was on the bike behind him........same attire!!
here i am thinking and doing the right thing and this asshat doesnt even encourage his DAUGHTER to wear gear!!

unreal..... AGAAT!!!

yeah.............you're doing the right thing and that's what matters if others want to ignore proper protective gear, then I say it's on them

+1 for you :clapping:

Survival of the fittest.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I call it job security.

Good for you on going ATGATT! I do as well. I bought a multi-layer jacket which works fine for me. I wear it year round without very little discomfort. It's got a mesh and armor outer, a rain liner that zips into the mesh and a thermal liner that zips into the rain layer. Cost me around $160.

Have Fun and Stay Safe Out There!

ATGATT is my new motto. Even if it sucks getting ready for work or just for a ride to the store (not to mention walking around in the gear) it's better than road rash.

We all have to decide how much risk we are willing to take. Some (my mother) would argue riding, no matter how dressed, makes YOU an "asshat."
