Thanks fireguzzi, As you can tell, I love that ol' bike. But that Orange M109 would look great next to her in my garage! (someday) :P

I have two suzuki's my first is a '82 GLZ the other is a '83 GLD. I bought the '83 as a parts bike for my '82. Got it off of ebay. The po said it had been sitting for 7 years so I figured it for a good doner bike. The only problem with that is that I like tinkering around with mechanical things so I went to tinkering with the '83. Pulled the plugs and sprayed in the cylinders with a penetrating lube and let her sit awhile. Next day hooked up power to see if it would spin. It did so we took it to the next step. I shot some fuel into the carbs. About the third attempt she fired. Now I have a new project bike. I think I'm gonna make a GKZ conversion out of it. Any body know where to get parts ? I could sure use some help here. Need a wiring harness as the old is pretty well butchered up.
just tryin' to get by bein' quiet and shy in a world full of pushin' and shovin'

I'd like the SV650 but I can only have one bike at a time right now, so I will stick with my sweet little GS. She's still a work in progress anyway.

......
But what I would really like if I had the money for the maintenace is an (ahem) Ducati Monster. I see the naked SV as a cheaper Duc with that trellis frame. 8)

I used to own a 1987 Honda VFR 750...After market pipe, intake and jetts...I loved that thing untill I looped it going 60 and totalled it...Cracked the block, crank case split the gas tank...4000 damages...

New bike and 15 years of growing up 2007 M50 limited edition...Love it...I want saddle bags windscreen, pipes intake...But everything cost so flipping much...I guess stock is how I am going to fly...

PIC of the bike...I can't post picture untill I get back home...Military internet is very restrictive...I can't even have my wife send me pic of the kids...

Had a Bandit 600.

Would really like a SV1000S if I were going to get another suzuki.

Looks like the GSX650s going to be comparable in power to the Katana 600, just lighter with better suspension on it. the numbers I have been seeing are around 75 at the wheel, so a little bit more than the SV. Its supposed to be a very broad powerband with lots of midrange, kinda like the bandit 600.

Looks like it would make for a very nice smaller displacement sport tourer, the new 650cc motor has gotten glowing reviews for being smooth and responsive.

I just got my license a month ago, and currently own a GZ250. I want to upgrade to a S40. It's still small, but that's an advantage for riding around town, parking, maneuvering, etc. I would use it only occasionally for highway riding...hopefully the thing won't blow up on me if I get up to 70mph once in a while
