#1 Unread post by alleywayriqashay »

this is my 1st week on my used 2002 gxr600. i live in south florida in between retirement communities. so in other words i have seen some pretty impaired driving. understanding my worries. when i take my bike out during traffic. i keep the choke half way cause im not yet skilled in easing on the trottle under 4 rpms or such. any experiences or suggestions? or does everyone ride with the choke on a little?

Quit using the choke while you ride. Go take a Rider Course. You bought too much bike. Read the beginner stickies. :frusty:

You can foul the sparkplugs if you leave the choke out all the time.

Do yourself and everyone else that shares the road with you a favor: take the Rider Course. Not only will it get you familiar with motorcycles, it'll get you comfortable with low speed maneuvers.

So park the bike before you kill yourself, call up MSF, and sign onto the BRC. It'll be the smartest thing you've ever done on two wheels.

Or if you wear a t-shirt, shorts, and a backwards baseball hat, and REALLY just want to pull wheelies and stoppies on public roads: pull that choke out all the way and rev up!

Take a rider training course and sell your bike for something with significantly less power. You don't have the skills to ride that motorcycle, please get one you can control before you hurt yourself. :(
