A dozen years ago, I rear ended someone in my car just like you described... suddenly I was right on top of him.

Traffic was heavy, but moving. The guy stopped moving, but he had no brake lights to let ME know it, until it was too late.

I'm very glad to hear you're ok! Make sure you don't spend too long going over what happened - get yourself comfortable with the events that happened and move on. Being mad at yourself for an extended period of time won't really help you out and might keep your confidence down.

Be happy you're OK and will ride again!

Man, same thing happened to me. Last summer (after only 2 months of having my bike) i was following a big green van, and i looked to change lanes, and i took to long of a look, then all of a sudden i hear a *SCREEECH* and i snap my head forward and HEY! theres the van 10 yards from my front tire (speed limit was 45). But instead of smacking the van and killing my self, i made a last-second decision to lay the bike down while i was braking. I though i hit the van, but the van had no damage, so i guess i made good timing and missed the van by inches.

I had to replace the Gas tank, Both Left-side turnsignals, Left side footpeg. Clutch lever, Left side mirror. a few other little things.

Luckly, NO injures exept for a lot of road rash..all i was wearing was Blue jeans and a wind-breaker jacket

heh, i learned a lesson,

You could've done everything right, but your front wheel locked up because you hit a patch of - whatever, oil, coolant, who knows. Best to just get back on the saddle again when you can, and gradually rebuild confidence. No need to rush anything, including healing up.

Ha funny, I crashed too at about 50 MPH ish and my helmet never touched the ground, and my leather pants saved my knee cap from being grounded off like soft cheese through a grater.

It's good you didn't get hurt too bad.

Engine pieces out of the CBR600F2 and F3 will transfer straight over if you have trouble sourcing a new clutch cover.

Well, now that you've got that out of the way you can get on with it. Sometimes we crash, hopefully without too terrible of an ending, then we learn from it and move on. I'm glad that you are ok-ish. I hope that what isn't o.k. heals up soon.
