breaks sound - c50 -

#1 Unread post by kennydude »

hey guys,
as we all probably are sick of hearin, i finally got ahold of that c50 suzuki. its a great ride and im totally diggin it.

im gettin a bit of a deep "whale" sound when i break verrryyy intermittently. it seems to happen almost when im letting off of them, or lightly applying them.

i have about 200k's on the bike right now - just to give you an idea of how old the components are.

anyway, i was waiting for my first inspection to bring it up (25 april), and really other than this, im not havin that bad of a time with it :)

any thoughts?

Brakes make funny sounds sometimes, especially when they're only being lightly applied. Making the pad just barely contact the rotor leaves all sorts of room for vibrations to cause noises. Could be all sorts of things.

If they work fine, and you have plenty of pad left, forget about it. If you really really want, you can take the pads off, clean everything off with brake cleaner, add brake lube to the backs of the pads, and put it back together and that will probably stop the noise.
