I worked on a few photographs of mine, printed and matted them for tonight's judging.

I also baked a cake.

Sat shivering in front of the gas fire all day, today, and staring at the wall. Worst dose of flu I can ever remember having - in the last 20 years, at any rate. But at least I get to be kind to myself for a change. Actually, it feels kinda 'cosy'. Maybe I need to do this more often.

No. Halfway through the evening is a "coffee break". The refreshment committee usually has store bought cookies or some artificially flavoured and coloured and over sweetened concoction....so once in a while I will bake something to bring. I inform them ahead of time so that they don't go buy the afore mentioned concoction.

It is called a Sour Cream coffee cake. Sour cream is used instead of milk.
A topping is made of chopped walnuts, cinnamon and brown sugar,
Half the batter is spread in the pan, then half the topping, then the other half of the batter, then the rest of the topping and then baked.

It is so-o-o-o-o good.

I use real butter when I bake and pure vanilla (not the artificial stuff) and I also use free range eggs.
Not quite as good as your eggs perhaps, but still better than the eggs from the battery hens.
Once I learned where the usual eggs came from I stopped buying them...just because of the way the chickens are treated. I'm not feeding a whole family so I am willing to pay the extra for the free range eggs.

Hmmm... Google is your friend...

Went to two motorcycle shops today.
Looked and sat on the brand new '08 DR650SE..liked it alot actually It's not as tall as i thought..
Also sat on the Shadow VLX and the Yamaha V-STAR650 (custom)
From pictures i thought i liked the V-STAR better, but up-close the Shadow grabbed my attention, and when i sat on both the V-STAR was deffinately heavier and the Shadow felt MUCH more comfortable.
I still don't really want a cruiser, ill probly get bored of it really fast.
So then we went on to look at Dual sports..and i sat on the DR650SE, KLR650, KLX250, and honda CRF230L. The CRF felt the most comfortable, buts only like 19 HP..
After the dual sports we looked at the 2008 Ninja 250. man, this thing is SWEET!!! The salesman that helped us said the Older 250 could outrun the newer one..but really dont think it can.

-2007 Suzuki DR650 - Sold

That cake sounds pretty yummy. I haven't had a good homemade cake in a long time.

Good for you for not using eggs from battery egg farms. I think it is cruel too. I personally will never buy eggs from the store again as long as I have my hens. The eggs are always fresh with better texture and taste. Plus my chickens can scratch in the dirt and eat bugs and grass and live a happy natural life.

And while we are on the subject of chickens...I'll take any chance I can get to show off my birds Here are my new chicks that hatched yesterday.

About an hour old chicks

Pretty gross looking huh?
